About
Networking and Information Security maintains and supports the campus network at Texas A&M University. This network consists of a 10 Gigabit backbone and hundreds of Ethernet LANs. The network connects over 340 buildings, and has 90,000 wired network ports and 2000 wireless access points.Networking and Information Security also maintains NTP time servers, DNS servers, and a DNS-based Blackhole List for the campus network. In addition, NIS maintains the campus Firewall, and provides incident response, and vulnerability scanning.
